Job summary

Hemans, a Houston-based private equity partner, seeks a Senior Fund Accountant to anchor fund accounting for multiple investment vehicles. You will own NAV, capital activity, allocations, and the general ledger while coordinating with auditors and tax advisors.

The role offers substantial exposure to LP reporting and operations optimizing value delivery. You will engage deeply with principals, shape processes, and drive improvements in reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 2-5 years of fund accounting experience, PE preferred (public accounting with PE clients a plus).
• Deep knowledge of partnership accounting, capital allocations, and PE fund structures including carried interest and waterfalls.
• Strong command of US GAAP and fair value accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills, plus experience with fund accounting ERP platforms and investor portals.

Responsibilities

• Own the fund accounting cycle across NAV, capital activity, allocations, and the general ledger.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements, partner capital statements, and LP reporting packages.
• Manage capital calls, distributions, and waterfall calculations with a clear audit trail.
• Coordinate with third‑party administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel to deliver clean audits and tax filings.
• Support investment valuations and portfolio company financial reporting.
• Handle management fees, fund expenses, and bank reconciliations, and maintain strong internal controls.
• Support new acquisitions, add‑ons, and fund‑level transactions as the platform grows.
• Respond to LP inquiries and diligence requests accurately and professionally.
