Job summary

Oliver James Associates Ltd. is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant for a leading private credit firm in downtown Chicago. This hybrid role handles internal fund accounting, GAAP reporting, and collaboration with treasury and investor relations to keep funds compliant and well run.

You will maintain ledgers, prepare capital allocations, support investor reporting, and assist with audits. Ideal candidates have a bachelor's in accounting/finance, CPA preferred, 3+ years in private equity or similar,

Qualifications

• 3+ years in private equity, leveraged finance, hedge funds, or public accounting (financial services).
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• CPA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support fund accounting & reporting across investment vehicles (US GAAP + partnership agreements).
• Maintain the general ledger and help streamline automated entries.
• Prepare capital allocation schedules, including complex incentive fee calcs.
• Support investor reporting, capital calls, and distributions.
• Partner with Treasury, Investor Relations, and Leadership on fund operations.
• Assist with financial statement prep and external audit support.
