Job summary

EisnerAmper LLP is seeking a Senior Portfolio Accountant to join the Real Estate Systems Implementation Group (RESIG) in New York. You will work on multiple client relationships, prepare and review financial statements, and support the year-end audit process with a focus on real estate funds.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting with 3+ years in fund accounting for Financial Services, and experience with Yardi or MRI is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field is required.
• 3+ years of experience in fund accounting and/or assurance serving Financial Services clients.
• Preferred CPA or parts passed towards CPA.

Responsibilities

• Contribute toward a team covering one or more client relationships.
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Investments, Operations, Cash Flows, and Notes.
• Prepare general ledger and work papers for accuracy, including capital and investment activity.
• Prepare Partner Capital reports including Partner P&L.
• Calculate monthly interest accruals, management fees and capital allocations.
• Prepare and issue capital call and distribution notices; investor notices.
• Reconcile cash balances daily for multiple accounts.
• Support year-end audit process in collaboration with team, client and auditors.

What Work You Will be Responsible For:

• Contribute toward a team covering one or more client relationships
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, including but not limited to, Balance Sheet, Statement of Investments, Statement of Operations, Statement of Cash Flows, and Notes to Financial Statements
• Prepare general ledger and work paper files for accuracy and completeness, including capital activity, investment activity, income, and expense accruals, etc
• Prepare Partner Capital reports including Partner P&L
• Prepare and calculate monthly interest accruals, management fees and capital allocations
• Calculate capital call and distribution notices, sources/uses of cash, and investor notices
• Reconcile cash balances daily for multiple accounts
• Calculate quarter end final and estimated NAVs
• Support the year-end audit process, in collaboration with the team, client, and auditors
• Train and mentor junior staff

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field is required
• 3+ years of experience in fund accounting and/or assurance serving Financial Services clients (hedge funds, private equity, or other alternative asset managers strongly preferred)
