Job summary

Dorle Controls LLC is seeking an experienced Functional Safety Engineer in Dearborn, MI to drive safety across the product lifecycle. You will develop safety plans, perform HARA, and allocate safety requirements to hardware and software, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 and related standards.

The role involves coordinating with systems, software, hardware, and validation teams, producing safety cases, and supporting customer safety discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Functional Safety Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and ASPICE.
• Experience with safety analyses and lifecycle development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Functional Safety plans per ISO 26262 / IEC 61508.
• Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA).
• Define Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC).
• Derive and allocate safety requirements to HW and SW.
• Conduct safety analyses (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA).
• Coordinate safety activities with cross-functional teams.
• Support safety verification, validation, and safety case documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ASIL requirements and participate in safety audits.
