Job summary

Weir is seeking a Senior Functional Lead for Innovation & PLM to drive a global SAP S/4HANA transformation and push PLM maturity across people, process and technology. The role requires cross-domain leadership in PLM capabilities including Product Portfolio and BOM/MBOM management.

You will partner with Enterprise Architecture and Domain Architects to deliver end-to-end solutions, leveraging SAP Fit-to-Standard and modern cloud approaches while guiding senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in designing and optimising end-to-end PLM and related processes.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA PLM, Siemens Teamcenter, CAD tools and PLM integrations.
• Strong knowledge of MBOM/EBOM, regulatory frameworks and innovation-led product development.
• Proven ability to lead across domains and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience as a Domain Architect in large SAP S/4HANA implementations.

Responsibilities

• Lead PLM transformation efforts, partnering with Product Domain Lead.
• Own and govern the PLM capability and value streams end-to-end.
• Design, implement and optimise PLM solutions with scalable architecture.

Senior Functional Lead - Innovation & PLM

Location - Flexible with 40% Travel

Purpose of Role: Weir’s global SAP S/4HANA transformation is a once‑in‑a‑generation programme establishing the core business platforms that will power the company for the next decade. As a senior leader in this journey, the Product Domain Architect brings deep expertise across Innovation and Product Lifecycle Management , spanning Siemens Teamcenter, SAP S/4HANA Engineering, BOM, and Material Master capabilities. Partnering closely with the Product Domain Lead, this role drives the scoping and delivery of key Product Lifecycle Management capabilities, including Product and Portfolio Lifecycle Management. The PDA ensures all initiatives are architected with a cross‑domain, end‑to‑end perspective, maintaining strong alignment with Enterprise Architecture and stepping into full domain leadership when required. Designed for a high‑calibre transformation expert, this role accelerates Weir’s PLM maturity across people, process, and technology, directly enabling strategic outcomes and programme success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership & Partnership : Drive Product Lifecycle Management transformation by partnering with - and deputising for - the Product Domain Lead, leveraging SAP Fit‑to‑Standard and Clean Core principles to maximise value across all PLM capabilities.
• End‑to‑End Capability & Value Stream Ownership : Own and govern the Product Lifecycle Management capability and its Enterprise Value Streams (e.g., Concept to Launch), ensuring cross‑domain alignment and value‑driven delivery through close collaboration with other Domain Architects.
• Architecture, Solution Design & Governance : Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of PLM solutions, translating business requirements into scalable architecture; govern the domain roadmap, architectural artefacts, standards, risks, and decisions while ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture.
• Cross‑Domain Collaboration, Data, Integration & Innovation: Work across architecture teams to ensure coherence, guide solution architects, shape data and integration patterns, uphold strong data governance, and drive continuous improvement through modern cloud approaches, emerging technologies, and PLM‑focused innovation.
• Safety First : Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

• PLM Process, Systems & Domain Expertise: Brings deep expertise in designing and optimising end‑to‑end Product Lifecycle, Product Portfolio, and Product Stabilisation Management processes, with strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and innovation‑led product development.
• SAP S/4HANA PLM, Siemens Teamcenter, CAD & BPM Capability: Experienced across Siemens Teamcenter, SAP S/4HANA Engineering and PLM‑related modules, CAD tools such as NX and Autodesk, and engineering simulation systems, with strong understanding of MBOM/EBOM processes, PLM integrations, and BPM methodologies using tools like Celonis or Signavio.
• Agile Delivery, Portfolio Management & Cross‑Functional Engagement: Proficient in Agile methodologies and portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira, Atlassian suite), with the ability to communicate, influence, and collaborate across domains, shaping solutions that support enterprise‑wide product lifecycle objectives.
• Leadership Mindset, Strategic Thinking & Adaptability: Demonstrates an enterprise‑wide, strategic mindset with strong facilitation and communication skills, comfortable leading complex, ambiguous change and constructively challenging senior stakeholders to drive transformative outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience operating as a Domain Architect within a large‑scale SAP S/4HANA implementation, architecting value‑driven, enterprise‑aligned solutions across complex business domains.
