Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform historical and incremental data loads with profiling, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
• Translate requirements and source structures into field mappings and technical designs.
• Build reusable components, mappings, scripts, and utilities to accelerate delivery.
• Resolve development, test, UAT, production, and data-quality issues with cross-team collaboration.
• Verify data completeness and produce reconciliation evidence with traceable documentation.
• Create technical requirements, procedures, mapping specs, test evidence, and knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with product analysts, ERP teams, and engineers to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in Agile backlogs, estimates, sprints, and releases; communicate risks clearly.

We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Functional Engineer, TS Procurement to be located in Raritan, NJ or New Brunswick, NJ.

Role Summary

The Senior Functional Engineer will serve as a hands-on technical contributor within the Technology Services Procurement delivery team, developing and supporting reliable solutions that integrate supplier and procurement data across ERP platforms, databases, middleware, APIs, and external applications. Working closely with product owners, business partners, analysts, and other engineers, this role will translate requirements and data mappings into scalable technical implementations; complete data migrations, validation, reconciliation, testing, and deployment activities; and tackle complex application, integration, and data-related issues. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and development skills with attention to data integrity, operational reliability, documentation, and continuous improvement, while quickly learning new business processes and technologies in a global environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support data integration solutions that move supplier and procurement data between ERP platforms, middleware services, databases, APIs, and external applications.
• Complete historical and incremental data loads, including source-data profiling, transformation, payload generation, validation, reconciliation, exception analysis, and business sign-off support.
• Translate business requirements and source-system data structures into clear field mappings, transformation rules, technical designs, acceptance criteria, and supportable implementations.
• Build and maintain reusable processing components, mappings for driving logic, scripts, database objects, utilities, and report outputs that reduce manual effort and accelerate implementation.
• Perform hands‑on analysis and resolution of development, test, UAT, production, performance, and data‑quality issues; collaborate with application support and engineering teams on complex incidents.
• Verify data completeness and accuracy across source and target systems, produce clear reconciliation evidence, and maintain traceable documentation supporting controls and audits.
• Generate technical requirements documentation, operational procedures, mapping specifications, test evidence, and support knowledge articles that enable repeatable delivery and reliable transition to operations.
• Partner directly with product analysts, technical product owners, business process owners, ERP teams, external application teams, and other engineers to clarify requirements and deliver working solutions.
• Participate actively in Agile delivery by refining backlog items, estimating work, completing development and testing tasks, communicating risks, and meeting agreed sprint and release commitments.
• Identify and implement practical improvements in performance, reliability, maintainability, monitoring, error handling, and self‑correction within existing integration processes.
• Use approved AI‑assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate analysis, coding, unit testing, documentation, and problem solving while independently validating the quality and security of outputs.
• Quickly learn unfamiliar business functions and enabling technologies, be productive across adjacent product areas when required, and share knowledge with teammates through documentation and working sessions.
• Follow applicable software‑development lifecycle, architecture, cybersecurity, privacy, and data‑handling requirements throughout solution delivery and support.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of confirmed hands‑on experience developing, testing, or supporting enterprise applications, data integrations, or data‑processing solutions.
• Strong experience with relational databases and SQL, including the ability to analyze data, write queries, and resolve data‑quality or processing issues.
• Experience working with structured data formats and integration methods such as JSON, XML, CSV, REST APIs, batch integrations, or secure file transfer.
• Ability to understand field mappings and transformation requirements and convert them into accurate, testable technical logic.
• Experience performing unit, system, integration, or user‑acceptance testing and documenting results, defects, and resolution evidence.
• Experience with Oracle or another enterprise relational database, including SQL and procedural database development.
• Experience supporting production applications and resolving incidents under time‑sensitive business conditions.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity, solution quality, and timely delivery.
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to engineers, analysts, business partners, and support teams and to collaborate effectively across regions and functions.
• Ability to work as an independent contributor on assigned technical tasks while seeking guidance appropriately and being effective within an Agile team.
• Willingness and proven ability to learn new business domains, products, tools, and technologies quickly.

Preferred

• Experience with SAP ERP data, supplier or vendor master data, procurement processes, or enterprise master‑data integrations.
• Hands‑on exposure to API gateways and integration platforms such as Apigee, webMethods, SAP BTP Integration Suite, or comparable middleware technologies.
• Experience with Java, Python, scripting, web application development, microservices, or cloud‑based application services.
• Experience building data‑validation, reconciliation, operational‑reporting, or Excel‑based analysis utilities.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, source control, automated testing tools, and standard Agile software‑delivery practices.
• Practical experience using approved generative AI tools to assist with software development, testing, documentation, or analysis.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$79,000.00 - $127,650.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

• Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
