Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks a Senior Functional Analyst for a remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs program. You will lead requirement capture for software teams, collaborate with business users and IT, and manage requirements in ALM tools with SAFe/Agile practices.

A Public Trust (MBI) and US citizenship are required for this opportunity. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience in business analysis, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to mentor junior analysts

Responsibilities

Lead capture of business requirements for software development teams.
Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in an ALM tool.
Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform Agile requirement management.
Perform analysis of user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
Conduct user interviews, lead sessions, and develop business process models and specifications.
Gather and document business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements from customers and stakeholders.
Elaborate user stories, decompose backlog items, and determine acceptance criteria.
Use JIRA for Requirements Management, Testing, and Defect Management.
Collect, track, and monitor system and business requirements; validate integration.
Conduct backlog refinement; coordinate with Systems Engineers on impacts.
Manage requirements for projects; write and deliver project documents to client.
Identify risks and issues; develop and maintain project/product backlogs.
Own change control processes; develop Change Requests as needed.
Facilitate configuration management for project artifacts; ensure traceability across requirements and tests.
