Specialized Bicycle Components is seeking a Senior Fullstack Platform Go Engineer to help build scalable backend services and event-driven systems within the Global Tech team. You will work on integration platforms across multiple engineering teams to enable reliable data exchange and interoperable systems.

The ideal candidate is fluent in Go or a similar statically-typed language, comfortable deploying to AWS, and capable of explaining complex designs to technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems design and implementation.
• Strong programming skills in Go or a statically-typed language.
• Experience deploying services to AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, ECS).
• Solid REST API design and web fundamentals.
• Knowledge of containers and Docker usage.
• Strong data modeling and RDBMS experience.
• Ability to communicate technical designs to technical/business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design distributed systems and event-driven components for scalable platforms.
• Contribute to an event system enabling loose coupling across services.
• Build tooling to support frontline staff and to maintain product registration systems.
• Enhance and support integrations with POS systems for omni-channel strategy.
• Maintain and iterate CI/CD pipelines for frequent robust deployments.
• Collaborate with teammates to identify best-fit technical solutions.
• Analyze root causes and propose simple, effective solutions.

Senior Fullstack Platform Go Engineer

Summary

This role is part of the Global Tech team, responsible for building and maintaining scalable backend services, event-driven systems, and shared platform capabilities that support a wide range of digital products and internal business functions. As part of the Integration Platform team, this role will frequently interface with multiple engineering and business teams to enable reliable data exchange and system interoperability across the organization. The role requires experience with distributed system design and implementation, the Go programming language, and AWS infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments. They are eager to grow, have experience with Go or another statically-typed language, experience deploying services to AWS, and demonstrate strong curiosity in finding simple, effective solutions to complex problems. The candidate must work closely with peer development teams to provide thoughtful technical recommendations and drive alignment across systems.

How you will make a difference

• Provide clarity by designing distributed systems built fromiteratively-shippedcomponents
• Contribute to an event system which enables loose coupling across services
• Build simple tools to aid our frontline support staff
• Maintain a product registration system
• Continue to enhance and support our integrations withPoint of Salesystems to serve our omni-channel strategy
• Manage a clean CI/CD pipeline to deliver robust changes frequently

What you’ll need to win

• Experience with Golang, Java, or C++
• Familiarity with evented systems
• Strong fundamental knowledge of REST API design
• Strong in web fundamentals
• Familiar with AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda,EventBridge, SQS/SNS, ECS
• Working knowledge ofcontainers, specificallyDocker
• Strongdata modeling and RDBMSexperience
• Excellence at describing technical designs appropriate to a technical or business audience
• Self-motivated teammate who is communicative and collaborative
• Comfortable writing and testing your own code that goes to production
• Practiced at implementing and monitoring through the three pillars of observability

Preferred qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience or aBachelor’sdegree in Computer Science(or comparable subject area)
• 4+ years of proven experience creating technical specifications / designs from business requirements
• 2+ years working with Golangor Java or C++
• 2+ years working withPostgres or MySQL(via SQL, not ORM)
• Experienceof working on at-scale distributed systems
• Previous use ofGithubActions and Terraform
• Server siderenderedHTML, plain CSS, and minimal JavaScript
• Previous use of HTMX
• Comfortablewith source code control and versioning tools (Git preferred)
• Experience with GitHub, Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, Slack,Dropboxand other collaboration tools

PAY

Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations:

California Base Pay Range: ($137,000 - $198,000)
