Job summary

Propel is seeking a highly experienced Fullstack Engineer to join our mission-driven team in Brooklyn. This role offers autonomy to work as an IC or manager, with opportunities to lead cross‑product initiatives, drive architectural decisions, and mentor other engineers.

You’ll tackle meaningful, complex problems across government programs, healthcare enrollment tooling, and internal systems, delivering high‑quality software that meaningfully improves users’ lives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing, building, shipping, and maintaining complex full‑stack software at scale.
• 3+ years leading and managing a team.
• Fluency in at least one backend and one frontend language; willingness to learn Python and JavaScript.
• Experience in startup environments; ability to operate independently when faced with ambiguity.
• Ability to ramp up quickly to the product ecosystem for large projects.
• Excellent communication across technical and non‑technical audiences.
