Citi is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Software Engineer in Tampa, FL. You will design and build enterprise applications spanning front-end and back-end, using Spring Boot, React, and Oracle.

The role involves cloud-native APIs, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and applying AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery. You will work in an agile team, influence technical direction, and collaborate with Citi’s global engineering community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Oracle.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and object-oriented design with Java.
• Design microservices and event-driven systems using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Develop user interfaces with React, HTML5, and CSS; write clean, tested code.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain full stack Java applications (Spring Boot, React, Oracle) for enterprise-scale solutions.
• Write clean, well-tested code and pair with engineers to achieve sprint goals.
• Break down acceptance criteria to clarify scope, complexity, and risk for backlog items.
• Design and build RESTful and GraphQL APIs connecting microservices; enable cloud-native deployment.
• Containerize apps with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes to improve deployment reliability.
• Apply AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to speed up development and improve quality.
• Investigate root causes of performance issues and implement lasting fixes.
• Shape technical and team standards in collaboration with leadership.

As a Senior Full Stack Java Software Engineer, you will design and build enterprise applications that power Citi's technology platforms, working across the front end and back end to deliver reliable, high-performing solutions. Based in Tampa, FL, you will join an agile delivery team where you will write production code, shape software architecture, and apply AI-driven development tools to accelerate delivery. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction while contributing to a broad developer community within Citi.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications & Skills

• * Bring a minimum of 5 years of software development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Oracle.
• * Apply strong knowledge of data structures and object-oriented design principles using Java.
• * Design microservices and event-driven systems using frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• * Develop user interfaces using JavaScript frameworks such as React, along with HTML5 and CSS.
• * Write and optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries against Oracle relational databases.
• * Use CI/CD tools such as Maven, Gradle, Docker, and Jenkins to build and deploy code.
• * Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• * Build front-end interfaces using Angular as an alternative to React.
• * Apply exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI tools to enhance development workflows
• * Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• * Use JIRA and GitHub Enterprise to support agile development and version control.
• * Automate unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to strengthen code quality.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
