Job summary

J T in Annapolis Junction, MD, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java/Angular Software Engineer (Level 3) to design, develop, and enhance high-throughput enterprise systems. You will provide technical leadership across full-stack development, building Angular front-ends and Java/Spring Boot microservices.

The ideal candidate has TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance, strong experience with Angular, Spring Boot, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD, and a proven track record leading distributed

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with a current Polygraph clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus at least 12 years of software engineering experience on programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity, OR 16 years of relevant software engineering experience without a degree.
• Front-End: in-depth experience building UIs with Angular and RxJS.
• Back-End: deep expertise with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, and Java.
• Data & Messaging: experience with Apache Kafka, JMS, Oracle databases, Elasticsearch.
• DevOps & Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, Maven, Gradle, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Technical Leadership: experience as technical lead or mentor across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, code, test, and deploy full-stack web applications using Angular/RxJS for front-end interfaces and Java/Spring Boot for back-end microservices.
• Develop back-end integrations leveraging Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, JMS, and Apache Kafka.
• Design and optimize complex database interfaces, queries, and data indexing pipelines using Oracle and Elasticsearch.
• Containerize applications and manage microservices deployments utilizing Docker and Kubernetes within GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Serve as a technical lead across multiple software teams, delegating tasks, establishing coding standards, and overseeing quality control for all delivered code.
• Confer with systems and hardware engineers to derive software requirements, analyze performance trade-offs, and define interface boundaries.
• Design and implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict execution timing, resource management, and interface constraints.
• Author and review comprehensive technical design documentation and system architecture specifications.

Salary Range: $199,000 – $238,000 / year (dependent on experience, education, and skill set)

About the Role

Seeking a senior Full Stack Java/Angular Software Engineer (Level 3) to design, develop, and enhance complex, high-throughput enterprise systems in Annapolis Junction, MD.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership across full-stack application development, building responsive front-end user interfaces in Angular/RxJS and engineering microservices using Java and Spring Boot. You will lead cross-functional development teams, implement message-driven distributed architectures, optimize data processing and indexing pipelines, and ensure rigorous software quality standards across classified operational environments.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with a current Polygraph.

Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution plus at least 12 years of software engineering experience on programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity, OR
16 years of relevant software engineering experience without a degree (4 additional years substituting for the degree).

Front-End Development: In-depth, hands‑on experience building user interfaces with Angular and RxJS.

Back-End Engineering: Deep expertise with the Spring Boot framework (including Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security) and Java.

Data & Messaging: Demonstrated experience with Apache Kafka, JMS, Oracle databases, and Elasticsearch.

DevOps & Containers: Proven experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Maven, Gradle, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

Technical Leadership: Proven track record serving as a technical lead or mentor across distributed software development teams.
