Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering for Risk Tech in McLean, VA. You will lead a portfolio of full stack projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based risk solutions leveraging AI and modern tech.

You will work with JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/GCP/Azure services to build scalable systems that empower customers and improve risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• At least 4 years of people management experience.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• 9+ years of experience in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor other engineers and participate in internal and external tech communities.
• Collaborate with product managers and deliver cloud-based solutions for millions of users.
• Utilize JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go among others, with Docker/Kubernetes and AWS tools.
