Morningstar Credit Ratings, LLC seeks a Senior Software Engineer with strong full-stack JavaScript experience to join the Central Technology Web Development team in support of Morningstar’s Corporate Marketing. You will help build, maintain, and improve web-based marketing platforms using Vue.js, Nuxt 3, TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS.

The role focuses on developing commercial-grade applications, contributing to component libraries, and ensuring performance, accessibility, and security.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Vue, Nuxt, React, Next.js, Angular.
• Familiarity with server-side rendered, statically generated, or universal JavaScript applications.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills, including asynchronous programming, modular code, package management, and modern build tooling such as Vite, Webpack, Rollup.
• Experience building or consuming RESTful APIs, Node.js services, middleware, or integrations with external platforms.
• Familiarity with deploying, debugging, or monitoring applications in AWS or a similar cloud environment.
• Strong communication skills, curiosity, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, designers, content teams, and other cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack web applications using Vue.js, Nuxt 3, TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS.
• Build and maintain server-side rendered and universal web applications with attention to routing, hydration, caching, and performance.
• Create reusable front-end components and contribute to libraries and design-system patterns.
• Build and maintain Node.js-based APIs, middleware, and service integrations, including headless CMS, analytics, and personalization.
• Contribute to AI-enabled marketing workflows, including content creation, migration, schema mapping, and experimentation.
• Support production delivery through testing, debugging, monitoring, accessibility, SEO, security, privacy, and Core Web Vitals improvements.
• Troubleshoot issues across browser behavior, API responses, CMS configuration, cloud infrastructure, and build pipelines.
