Job summary

Citi in New York seeks a Senior Application Developer to design, build, and support modern web apps across UI, APIs, and backend services. You will contribute to self-service test data capabilities and engage in API-first, microservices architecture.

The role requires strong Java/Spring Boot backend and React frontend skills, plus CI/CD discipline and a collaborative, agile mindset. Join a team modernizing internal tools for large-scale test data management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack web application development.
• Strong backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot (REST APIs, security concepts, performance, and scalability).
• Strong frontend development experience with React, including TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Solid understanding of API design and microservices architecture (service boundaries, resilience, observability basics).
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server and relational data modeling.
• Proficiency with GitHub workflows and practical experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills, ownership, and agile teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Development: design, build, and support modern web apps across UI, APIs, and back-end services for self-service test data.
• Backend & API Services: develop scalable microservices in Java/Spring Boot; document RESTful APIs with versioning.
• Automation & Modernization: automate provisioning and management of test data accounts and modernize internal tools.
• Collaboration & Custom Solutions: work with teams to provide customized test data solutions.
• Engineering Excellence: contribute to CI/CD pipelines, write unit/integration tests, and participate in code reviews.
• Support & Operations: perform test data management functions ensuring reliability for scrum teams.
