Job summary

GradGuard’s Technology team is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own and build scalable software. You’ll work primarily in PHP/Laravel with event-sourced financial workflows and integrate Stripe, REST, and GraphQL APIs.

Front-end work uses Vue3, Nuxt, and TypeScript to deliver polished user experiences. The ideal candidate thrives in collaboration, brings strong analytical skills, and can communicate complex insights to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Advanced experience with PHP MVC frameworks, preferably Laravel.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing (e.g., Laravel Jobs/Queues).
• Experience with event-sourcing architectures and libraries.
• Front-end experience with Vue3, Nuxt, TypeScript and Tailwind.
• Experience with unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Strong knowledge of OOP design patterns.
• Experience building and consuming REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Experience integrating with payment processing APIs such as Stripe.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and support PHP/Laravel backend services within event-sourced financial frameworks.
• Collaborate with product and design to build sites from scratch or enhance existing software.
• Write automated unit, functional, and end-to-end tests for features and fixes.
• Provide code recommendations to improve usability, scalability, and performance.
• Mentor and support the existing web engineering team.
• Understand technical details of owned features and their interactions with other systems.
