Job summary

BCBST BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Inc. is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead the delivery of scalable applications built with React/Next.js and Java/Node.js. You will collaborate with product, QA, and operations teams to move projects from concept to deployment.

The role involves architectural input, mentoring engineers, and upholding high engineering standards. The position includes a monthly on-call rotation, with no sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of IT concepts, development methodology, terminology and standards.
• 5 years of systems and programming experience.
• 5 years of expert knowledge in at least one programming language used at the company.

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality UIs with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Develop backend services in Java and Node.js using REST and SOAP.
• Deploy and support applications on WebSphere and container platforms.
• Break down requirements, estimate work, and drive end-to-end delivery.
• Collaborate across product, QA, operations, and engineering teams.
• Use tools for monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews.
• Mentor developers and conduct code reviews.
