Job summary

Capital One is seeking a seasoned Full-stack Software Engineer to lead diverse technology projects and shape the cloud-based, microservices architecture. You will collaborate with product managers, mentor engineers, and drive adoption of modern practices across Agile teams.

The role emphasizes ownership of code quality, performance, and scalable solutions using Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, and related open source tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience (Internship not counted).
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Master's degree in CS or related field is preferred.
• 7+ years of multi-language coding experience.
• 3+ years of experience with databases and cloud tools.
• 4+ years of experience contributing to open source frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions for users.
• Design and implement robust, scalable microservices and full-stack systems.
• Provide technical leadership and set standards for design, development, and ops.
• Partner with architects to define service boundaries and reuse frameworks.
• Refactor and reduce technical debt; optimize system performance.
• Influence long-term technology strategy and adopt emergent tools.
