Solace is a Series C healthtech startup building a platform to pair patients with experts and help navigate the complex U.S. healthcare system.
The Senior Full Stack Engineer will own end-to-end development in a fast-moving startup, shipping daily for live users and shaping a lean engineering culture. The role emphasizes autonomous ownership, strong frontend and backend skills in a TypeScript/Node environment, and collaboration with product/design to deliver delightful user experiences in a
Solace is a Series C, $1B-valued healthtech startup founded in 2022 — meaning it's post-product-market-fit but still in high-growth mode. This is a sweet spot for engineers who want early-stage ownership without pre-seed chaos.
Compensation context: No salary is listed, which is a mild red flag for transparency. Market rates for senior full-stack engineers at Series C healthtech startups in the U.S. typically range from $160K–$220K base plus equity. Given the $1B valuation and VC backing from Menlo and IVP, equity upside is real but not guaranteed at this stage.
Skills you'll build:
Green flags: Daily shipping culture, genuine product ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and mission-driven work in a space with regulatory moats.
Red flags to watch for: The language — "intense," "aggressive," "can't coast," "get antsy" — signals a high-performance, potentially high-burnout environment. The absence of any mention of PTO, benefits, or work-life balance is notable. Candidates should probe directly about on-call expectations, sprint cadences, and team size during interviews.
Best suited for mid-to-senior engineers who thrive in fast-moving startup environments and want meaningful equity exposure in a healthcare company with real traction.
Healthcare in the U.S. is fundamentally broken. The system is so complex that 88% of U.S. adults do not have the health literacy necessary to navigate it without help. Solace cuts through the red tape of healthcare by pairing patients with expert advocates and giving them the tools to make better decisions—and get better outcomes.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll join a spectacularly talented team of fellow engineers—but you will also be expected to independently own your product workflow from initial design requirements through deployment. You will be expected to move aggressively, and you will commit code daily, but you'll get that rush of seeing your work in the wild with live users on a regular basis as you build a revolutionary product from scratch.
You are an experienced engineer who can identify problems and architect the highest-quality solutions. You are curious and enjoy working on ambiguous problems where the solutions are not (yet) well-defined. You take pride in your craft, have impeccable communication skills, and you absorb feedback exceptionally well. You aren't afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. Above all, you enjoy taking ownership and are stifled by large organizations.
