Waystar in Atlanta, GA seeks a Sr. Software Engineer - Full Stack to contribute across the Aware platform.

You will design, implement, and own resilient solutions using VueJS, NodeJS, Java, and AWS, collaborating with product and business teams to solve healthcare challenges. The role demands strong CS fundamentals, experience with modern frontend frameworks, APIs, testing, and CI/CD, plus a high degree of ownership and independent work.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related area; 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong foundation in CS principles, including algorithms, data structures, and system design for scalable web applications and backend services.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, such as version control, testing, and continuous integration.
• Proficiency in Java Spring, NodeJS, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with at least one modern frontend framework (VueJS, React, or Angular).
• SQL and relational databases.
• REST API.
• Automated testing (JUnit, TestNG, Jest, Vitest, or similar).
• Familiarity with web technologies, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Shift Left and test automation.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Highly self‑motivated with a strong sense of ownership; proactive about opportunities and follow-through.

• Design and implement highly resilient, scalable, and performant solutions that solve complex healthcare problems using VueJS, NodeJS, Java, AWS and more.
• Participate in technical and product discussions with leaders across our engineering, product, and business teams.
• Demonstrate self‑reliance and ownership in daily work while upholding best design/communication practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices.
