Job summary

Odyssey, based in New York City, seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build core platform components across the stack, including program eligibility systems, ledgers, and a marketplace. You’ll own features end-to-end from ideation to deployment, and ship 0-1 products in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

The role requires 8+ years of software development, proficiency in TypeScript, and experience with AWS, Next.js, and scalable APIs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Proficient in TypeScript for building robust, scalable applications.
• Strong communication skills and ability to pitch concepts to teams.
• Solid understanding of Agile practices and adaptable to evolving project needs.
• Experience with early to mid-stage tech startups and startup growth dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end across the stack from ideation to deployment and iteration.
• Build and ship 0-1 products and systems, turning ambitious ideas into scalable solutions.
• Architect, plan and develop frontend and backend experiences using TypeScript, APIs, and frontend frameworks.
• Design, implement and execute tests to ensure robustness and reliability.
• Develop and maintain scalable database models and APIs for widespread use.
• Collaborate with product and design to identify needs and bridge gaps.
• Balance speed and scalability with a bias toward shipping and learning quickly.
• Own production delivery, monitoring, debugging, and continuous improvement.
