Job summary

Freeform is seeking an experienced software engineer to build the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that underpins our autonomous metal production factories. You will connect sales, scheduling, production, quality, and delivery, shaping the data model and interfaces across large-scale plant data.

You will interact with product, software, manufacturing, automation, and quality teams to drive foundational technical decisions and deliver high-performance, scalable solutions for a rapidly growing

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python, Go, Java, or similar.
• Experience with backend web frameworks such as Flask or Django; frontend with React or Next.js; SQL/NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement a state-of-the-art enterprise software platform to integrate Freeform’s business processes from sales to manufacturing.
• Develop applications to track end-to-end lifecycle of millions of parts across thousands of customers worldwide.
• Act as engineer, product owner, and team lead — scoping features, driving pace, assigning tasks, delivering results.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering and operations to gather requirements and solve problems with code.
• Design scalable and resilient systems meeting high quality, reliability, and security standards.
• Maintain accessibility and integrity of the backend data model for BI access.
• Design and develop intuitive user interfaces focusing on functionality and usability.
