Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus to join the TMW Center engineering team. You will primarily work in Django while contributing to a .NET platform with a React frontend, building scalable services and APIs to support wearables and ML-driven language analytics for early learning.

You will collaborate with product and design teams, mentor peers, participate in CI/CD, and ensure robust production systems in a cloud environment (AWS/Azure).

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in software development or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience with backend systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend services and APIs in Django (primary) and .NET (secondary).
• Collaborate with front-end engineers to design interfaces between backend and React.js client.
• Architect scalable data models, services, and third-party integrations.
• Mentor engineers and participate in code reviews.
