Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-stack Engineer 4 to lead a portfolio of modern, cloud-based solutions. You will work with distributed microservices and a mix of Java, Scala, Python, Go, and JS/TS while leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS. You will guide Agile teams, set design standards, and partner with architects on scalable frameworks.

The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, technical leadership, and influence on long-term technology strategy in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers
• Mentor other members of the engineering community
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions
• Utilize Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript; Open Source DBs; Docker and Kubernetes; AWS tools
• Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and set standards
• Define service boundaries and reusable frameworks with architects
• Identify refactoring opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve performance
• Influence long-term technology strategy in a build-it-yourself environment
