Job summary

HUB International seeks a Senior Full Stack Developer in Chicago, IL, offering hybrid work and a path for growth. You will own backend and frontend, collaborate with product owners and other teams, and drive delivery of scalable software.

You will mentor teammates, apply secure coding practices, and contribute across languages in a polyglot environment. The role requires 5+ years in software development with .NET/React, strong API exposure, and a proactive, communicative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including production work in both a front-end framework and .NET.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, React (or similar), TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and SQL.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs with versioning, error handling and authentication.
• Collaborate effectively in a polyglot engineering team across multiple languages and frameworks.
• Strong interpersonal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software.
• Lead technical assessment and scoping for new requirements and break epics into stories.
• Design, develop and refactor software, implement new features and ensure test coverage.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain coding standards and perform peer reviews.
• Ensure architectural principles and coding standards are upheld across lifecycles.
• Stay current on tools/frameworks and propose improvements for HUB platforms.
• Prepare specifications and assist in design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.

• Mentor mid-level and junior developers through pairing and code reviews.
• Leverage AI tools across the development lifecycle with established review standards.
• Diagnose and fix production issues, add monitoring/alerting, and lead blameless postmortems.
• Build security-conscious features including authentication, authorization and data handling.

This role will be charged with backend and front-end ownership and strong partnership with product owners, product designers, application development teams, customers, internal business partner management and PMO functions.
