Job summary

Vosper Thornycroft Group, via Byte Systems, seeks a mid-level Full Stack Developer to join an agile team supporting mission-critical applications. You will design, develop, test, and refine software across the lifecycle, translating requirements into scalable solutions and contributing across systems architecture.

The role emphasizes Linux, JS frameworks, REST services, and AWS-based infrastructure, with on-call support and opportunities for ongoing cyber training and certifications.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• 5+ years in software engineering and/or web development.
• 5+ years full stack dev (JavaScript, VueJS/NodeJS/Angular, HTML/CSS).
• Strong Linux foundation.
• Experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle.
• Git-based source control experience.
• RESTful web services experience.
• AWS infrastructure knowledge (EC2, Lambda, SQS, Apache HTTPD).
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiar with software design patterns.

Do you have what it takes?

Mandatory Requirements

• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with polygraph
• Background in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Cyber Forensics, Engineering, or other related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training and work/military experience
• 5+ years’ experience working in software engineering, application development and/or web application development and deployment
• 5+ years’ experience with Object Oriented Programming such as Python or Ruby
• 5+ years’ experience in full stack development (JavaScript, VueJS, NodeJS, Angular, HTML, CSS, etc.)
• Strong foundation in Linux
• Experience with Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
• Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Git source code version control software
• Experience with software design patterns and principles
• Ability to develop and manage technical infrastructure to include AWS Elastic Cloud 2, AWS Lambdas, SQS, Apache HTTPD
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and experience working in an Agile team environment
• Familiarity with Restful web services

Desired Requirements

• Experience with Rails, Ruby, Rake in varying versions
• Behavior and Test-Driven Development using Cucumber, RSpec, and supporting libraries
• Experience with Bootstrap, Material UI or Tailwind
• Experience with AWS CLI, AWS CDK, or AWS SDK
• Experience with Apache Solr

PayRange: VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $180,000-$230,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
