Job summary

The Josef Group in Springfield, VA seeks a seasoned Full Stack Developer to lead architectural design and deliver complex features within ML/Ops pipelines and data-driven systems.

You will own backend systems, APIs, and data processing, collaborating with data scientists, while maintaining high security and governance standards. Requires TS/SCI clearance and 14+ years of full stack experience.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI poly.
• 14+ years of professional experience in full stack software development.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and object-oriented design patterns.
• Experience building backend systems, APIs, and data processing pipelines.
• Strong experience with modern web frameworks (React.js, Node.js, Electron).
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, BigQuery).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and ML workflows.
• Familiarity with ML/Ops tools (MLflow, DVC, Optuna).
• Experience with Python data libraries (NumPy, Pandas) and Flask/FastAPI.
• Containerization, Docker, CI/CD; web servers (Apache/Nginx); Agile tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in architectural design of complex features early in the development lifecycle.
• Translate requirements into technical solutions, tasks, timelines, and resource plans.
• Develop, integrate, and maintain full stack apps for ML/Ops pipelines and data systems.
• Design scalable APIs and services for ML model deployment and inference.
• Develop data pipelines and storage solutions for large-scale datasets.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to operationalize models.
• Optimize performance for scalability, reliability, and efficiency in distributed environments.
• Conduct peer reviews and establish coding standards for quality.
• Guide testing strategies, including automated testing and validation.
• Own code in production and lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance throughout the lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote high-performing teams.
• Drive adoption of ML/Ops tools and automation across the team.
