Job summary

Fastbreak AI, located in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design and ship high-performance web applications using React/Next.js and Node.js/Express. This role offers autonomy and the chance to influence architectural decisions while collaborating with product managers.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with React.js and Next.js on the frontend.
• Solid Node.js and Express.js experience on the backend.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, or similar).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working within a microservices architecture.
• Comfort with Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices.
• Active use of AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar) as part of your day-to-day workflow.
• A track record of making and defending architectural decisions, not just implementing them.
• Clear communication skills; you can translate technical tradeoffs for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance web applications using React, Next.js, and Express.
• Own architectural decisions and articulate reasoning and tradeoffs behind them.
• Integrate AI and LLM-powered features into production applications.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to shape technical requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve complex bugs across the full stack.
• Champion engineering best practices and help define how the team works best.
