Job summary

Arcadian, in partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, seeks a Senior Frontend Engineer to build and evolve the FAST streaming experience across web and TV platforms. You will collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver responsive interfaces for connected devices.

We value performance, usability, and maintainability, and offer a hybrid role based in Culver City with onsite Mon-Thu and remote on Friday.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building modern web UIs for web or TV apps across platforms.
• Proficient with React or Angular and modern JS/HTML/CSS.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and real-time data.
• Attention to accessibility (WCAG) and performance optimization.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, testable code.

Responsibilities

• Develop client applications for live and on-demand FAST channels across web and TV platforms.
• Implement features such as EPG, channel browsing, dynamic ad-supported playback interfaces, and content discovery.
• Integrate with backend APIs for metadata, scheduling, ads, and analytics.

About the Role

You will work closely with product management, design, and backend engineering teams to create highly performant, intuitive, and responsive interfaces for web, TV apps, and other connected devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop client applications for live and on-demand FAST channels across web and TV platforms
• Implement features such as EPG (Electronic Program Guide), channel browsing, dynamic ad-supported playback interfaces, and deep content discovery
• Integrate with backend APIs for content metadata, scheduling, ad services, and analytics
• Collaborate with designers to bring mockups to life
• Ensure high performance, accessibility, and cross-device compatibility
• Work closely with backend, QA, and product teams to deliver new features end to end
• Continuously improve UI performance, streaming UX, and code base quality through best practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building modern web or app UIs with frameworks like React, Angular
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and real-time data
• Familiarity with video playback technologies (HLS/DASH), media events, and browser compatibility
• Deep care for usability, accessibility (WCAG), and performance optimization
• Experience in writing clean, maintainable, and testable code

Nice to Have

• Experience building UIs for Google TV devices and gaming/streaming devices such as PlayStation or Roku
• Knowledge of video playback libraries (Shaka, Video.js, HLS.js, ExoPlayer)
• Experience with analytics, A/B testing, and event tracking for user behavior

Work Setup and Benefits

• Hybrid role based in Culver City, California: onsite Monday through Thursday and remote on Friday.
• Full-time position, 40 hours per week
• Compensation: $79 - $85.50 per hour
• 401k with matching, no PTO included
