Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to design and build production web applications for real-time RF output visualization, including live detections, tracks, spectrograms, geospatial overlays, and playback features.

You will own features end-to-end—from problem framing and interaction design through implementation, field validation, and iteration, collaborating with radar, embedded software, and backend teams. A U.S. TS clearance is required, with citizenship or eligible status.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional frontend application development experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Expert-level proficiency in Android platform development: Kotlin, Java, and Android Studio.
• Track record of shipping production interfaces that users depend on.
• Working knowledge of backend web services and API design; able to read and contribute to consumed services.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-status, or eligibility for ITAR-related work authorizations.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Design and build production web applications for real-time RF output visualization, including live detections and tracks, spectrogram displays, geospatial overlays, and post-mission playback and review
• Own features end to end from problem framing and interaction design through implementation, field validation, and iteration
• Engineer performance at high data rates through streaming ingest, efficient rendering, memory discipline, and smooth interaction on modest field hardware
• Define APIs and data contracts between frontend, embedded, and backend systems
• Build and maintain integrations delivering detections and tracks into TAK, customer C2, autonomy, and ISR platforms
• Own the interoperability layer, including standards-based message formats, publish/subscribe interfaces, adapters, plugins, and SDKs
• Partner with integrators and government end users during integration events and demonstrations
• Work with operators, test engineers, and customers to translate workflows into features and validate releases
• Establish frontend fundamentals including component architecture, testing, build and release tooling, telemetry, and error reporting
• Support field testing and deployments, including on-site full-stack debugging
• Collaborate with radar, embedded software, hardware, program management, and senior leadership teams

Requirements

• At least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or another technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of professional frontend application development experience
• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
• Expert-level proficiency in Android-platform development technologies: Kotlin, Java, and Android Studio
• Demonstrated track record of shipping production interfaces that users depend on and owning changes and maintenance after launch
• Working knowledge of backend web services and API design; comfortable reading and contributing to consumed services
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations for ITAR-controlled work
