Job summary

Fruition Group US is hiring a Lead Frontend Engineer for a live video platform in the Bay Area, onsite. You’ll own the live video UI, set coding standards, and shape the foundation for the second frontend hire later this year.

You’ll lead frontend work on a real-time video product, partnering with the streaming backend team, ensuring accessibility and performance, and driving end-to-end customer experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of frontend engineering experience.
• Strong experience with real-time video UI (WebRTC, media players).
• Deep knowledge of a modern framework, preferably React.
• Accessibility- and performance-first mindset.
• Comfort owning a customer-facing product end to end.

Lead Frontend Engineer, Live Video Platform | Bay Area, CA (Onsite)

Up to $220k base + equity + full benefits

I’m working with a NASDAQ-listed security technology company that is bringing its flagship customer-facing video product in-house from a third-party vendor. They need a frontend engineer to own it end to end.

You’d be the first hire in a two-person frontend team. You’ll set the standards, shape the codebase, and lay the groundwork for the second engineer who joins later in the year.

What you’ll do

• Own the live video UI codebase and its full development lifecycle
• Lead knowledge transfer from the current vendor’s UX designer
• Work with the streaming backend team to deliver a seamless end-to-end video experience
• Set frontend standards for testing, accessibility and performance
• Prepare the team and codebase for the next frontend hire

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years in frontend engineering
• Strong experience with real-time video UI (WebRTC clients, media players)
• Deep experience with a modern framework (React preferred)
• An accessibility and performance-first mindset
• Comfort owning a customer-facing product end to end

Nice to have

• Security or surveillance product UI experience
• Experience inheriting a codebase from a vendor or agency

• Base salary up to $220k. The range is wide because the final offer will depend on your experience and how closely you match the brief.
