Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Frontend) to lead the frontend strategy, architect modern web applications, and mentor engineers. You will own accessibility, performance, and UX across government-facing products while collaborating with product managers and design teams.

The role emphasizes mobile-first development, automated testing, and robust CI/CD pipelines, with opportunity to influence architectural decisions across teams.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record of leading and delivering multiple production-ready, accessible products.
• Proven experience architecting modern frontend applications at scale using React and/or Angular.
• Experience establishing frontend standards, practices, and tooling to improve productivity.
• Working knowledge of frontend build tooling and deployment pipelines (Webpack, Vite, npm, or similar).
• Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA, 508 compliance with practical implementation in CI/CD.
• Experience with automated frontend testing (Playwright, Cypress, etc.).
• Familiarity with design systems and component libraries across multiple apps.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive strategic direction for frontend engineering practices.
• Lead development of accessible, performant, user-centered web applications for government customers.
• Design and implement modern frontend architectures, pipelines, and deployment infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product managers to balance UI/UX with implementation effort.
• Mentor engineers and establish frontend career pathways.
• Establish frontend best practices including mobile-first development, testing strategies, and code quality.
• Influence frontend decisions across teams as strategic advisor.
