PrimeByteLabs is seeking a Senior Frontend Architect (React, Next.js, TypeScript) to lead frontend system design for large-scale web apps. You will establish standards, frameworks, and reusable components while prioritizing performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
You will mentor engineers, collaborate with backend teams, define API consumption patterns, and drive improvements to Core Web Vitals and loading strategies across products.
This role is for engineers who care deeply about frontend architecture, user experience, performance, and maintainability. Most of our work involves building large-scale web applications, establishing frontend standards, and solving problems that only appear when products reach real users at scale.
We're looking for someone who can design frontend systems that remain maintainable as teams grow from a few developers to dozens. The ideal candidate understands that frontend architecture is not about choosing frameworks—it's about creating predictable systems that can evolve without becoming technical debt.
Most frontend scaling problems are architecture problems disguised as feature requests.
Applications rarely fail because React is slow. They fail because state becomes impossible to reason about, components become tightly coupled, and teams lose confidence when making changes.
We've seen applications where a single user interaction triggered more than 50 unnecessary component re-renders. Proper memoization, state isolation, and rendering strategies reduced interaction latency from 800ms to under 100ms.
We've also seen bundle sizes grow beyond 2MB due to uncontrolled dependencies. Careful code splitting and lazy loading reduced initial JavaScript payloads by more than 65%, significantly improving user experience on slower devices.
Centralized API layer with request deduplication and caching:
import { QueryClient } from "@tanstack/react-query";export const queryClient = new QueryClient({ defaultOptions: { queries: { staleTime: 60000, retry: 2, refetchOnWindowFocus: false } }});export function useUserProfile(userId: string) { return useQuery({ queryKey: ["user", userId], queryFn: () => fetch(`/api/users/${userId}`).then(res => res.json()) });}
This pattern significantly reduced duplicate API requests and improved perceived application responsiveness across high-traffic pages.

Engineers joining the team should understand where architectural boundaries should exist and how those boundaries help maintain long-term scalability.
A significant portion of frontend architecture involves understanding how applications behave in production. Experience investigating rendering bottlenecks, memory leaks, hydration issues, and performance regressions is highly valued.
This role is focused on building frontend systems that can support long-term product growth. We value engineers who think beyond individual features and care about creating foundations that enable teams to move faster for years to come.
