Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a seasoned web developer to build high-performance, accessible websites and web applications.

You will contribute to frontend, backend, API, and data model design, implement CMS-driven sites, and ensure optimization for Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and SEO. This 2–3 month freelance engagement offers a flexible schedule (30–40h/week) starting in September, with CET +/-2h timezone.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional web development delivering production-ready sites.
• Strong experience with React; Next.js strongly preferred.
• Full-stack with TypeScript, REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication, and state management.
• Headless CMS platforms (Strapi/Contentful) including localisation/workflows.
• HTML5/CSS with Tailwind CSS or CSS Modules.
• Git/GitHub and collaborative workflows.
• Proven ability to optimise for performance, accessibility, and SEO.
• Experience with deployment workflows, CI/CD, and cloud hosting.
• Familiar with internationalisation/localisation approaches.
• Strong communication, good judgment, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining high-performance, accessible websites and web applications.
• Contributing to frontend, backend, API, and data model design and implementation.
• Developing CMS-driven websites, including content modelling, localisation, and editorial workflows.
• Implementing product features, backend functionality, and user interfaces.
• Integrating with internal systems, third-party services, and external APIs.
• Supporting SEO, performance, and accessibility best practices, including Core Web Vitals and WCAG 2.1 AA.
• Assisting with deployment, hosting, testing, QA, and documentation.
• Working independently, taking ownership of tasks, and proactively solving problems.
