Job summary

Wave is seeking a Senior Analyst, Fraud Prevention & Detection to own hands-on fraud risk work across digital customer and payment experiences. You will analyze account activity, transaction behavior, payment flows, and model outputs to identify threats and improve controls.

You will partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Compliance, Customer Care, and Operations to tune rules, scoring, and detection capabilities, delivering actionable recommendations and measurable improvements in

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in fraud prevention, fraud detection, fraud strategy, or payments risk.
• Strong analytical capability using dashboards, SQL, Excel, or data querying tools to identify fraud risks and actions.
• Experience designing, tuning, testing, and evaluating fraud rules, risk scoring strategies, and detection logic.

Responsibilities

• Analyze fraud trends, attack patterns, and risk signals to identify threats and control gaps.
• Design, tune, test, and evaluate fraud rules and detection logic to improve prevention outcomes.
• Monitor fraud performance metrics and recommend improvements based on measurable results.
• Conduct root cause analysis on fraud events and translate findings into corrective actions.
• Partner with product, engineering, data science, and operations to implement fraud controls.
• Support the fraud capability roadmap by improving rules, AI/ML model performance, and automated workflows.
• Prepare clear analyses and executive-ready summaries explaining fraud risks and actions.
• Support testing, launch, and optimization of new fraud tools and vendor capabilities.
