Job summary

Mercor is seeking a seasoned Fraud Detection Expert for a remote, contract-based role. You will construct enterprise fraud scenarios, oversee large-scale transaction monitoring programs, and develop detection approaches across multiple fraud domains.

Applicants should have 5+ years in fraud detection/AML at a Fortune 500 institution, ownership of large-scale programs, and fluency with enterprise fraud tooling and regulatory reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fraud detection or AML at a Fortune 500 bank or financial institution.
• Direct ownership of F500-scale fraud programs or transaction monitoring systems.
• Fluency with enterprise fraud detection tooling and methodologies.
• Understanding of F500 regulatory reporting and case escalation.

Responsibilities

• Construct enterprise fraud scenarios for large-scale transaction monitoring, multi-stakeholder investigation workflows, and complex regulatory reporting cycles at Fortune 500 institutions.
• Build tasks across payment fraud, account takeover, identity theft, AML, synthetic identity fraud, and merchant/card network fraud.
• Develop fraud operations scenarios using tools such as SAS Fraud Management, Actimize, Feedzai, and enterprise case management/transaction monitoring platforms.
• Apply enterprise fraud detection methodologies, including rules-based and ML-driven detection models, network/link analysis, KYC/AML frameworks, and BSA compliance.
• Author rubrics that distinguish authentic enterprise fraud investigation judgment from generic textbook or certification-exam-level recall.
