Job summary

Vadum, Inc. seeks a seasoned Firmware Engineer in Raleigh, NC to lead FPGA firmware development across the full cycle, collaborating with hardware and software engineers to deliver robust, modular FPGA solutions.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in firmware, strong VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog, Xilinx Vivado experience, MATLAB, and TCL scripting, and holds US citizenship with active security clearance or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or relevant field.
• 10+ years relevant experience.
• 5+ years relevant experience in firmware development.
• Proficiency in VHDL, Verilog and SystemVerilog.
• Experience with Linux operating procedures is a plus.
• Maintain US Citizenship and Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain complex FPGA designs.
• Use and implement constraints using TCL-based scripts and commands.
• Debug designs using simulations and ILA real-time analyzers.
• Simulate logic designs and build testbenches.
• Adapt systems quickly to meet changing business needs.
• Assist with upgrades to existing systems and implementation of new systems.
• Write scripts, conduct testing, and resolve debugging tasks.
• Understand hardware and software interactions and collaborate with hardware engineers.
• Maintain and improve existing designs and source code to attain modularity.
• Deliver to objectives including deadlines and schedule.
