Job summary

KARL STORZ North America is seeking an FPGA Design Engineer IV to lead the design, development, and verification of FPGA-based imaging solutions for advanced medical video camera systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on FPGA, embedded processors, GPU, edge computing, and AI-enabled imaging technologies, ensuring quality and manufacturability while driving innovation in medical devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years FPGA design experience with a Bachelor's degree (7–11 years with a Master’s).
• Expert-level Verilog/SystemVerilog for FPGA solutions.
• Strong FPGA architecture, synthesis, timing analysis, and verification knowledge.
• Extensive troubleshooting of FPGA, hardware, and software integration.
• Experience architecting FPGA solutions to meet complex system requirements.
• Knowledge of FPGA design tools, resource optimization, timing closure, and power analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop synthesizable Verilog/SystemVerilog HDL for FPGA implementations.
• Create simulation and verification environments in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Analyze FPGA resource usage, timing, power, and system performance.
• Troubleshoot FPGA designs and integration issues.
• Lead FPGA development efforts and guide engineering teams.
• Contribute to system architecture including FPGA, embedded, GPU, AI imaging.
