Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Manager of Finance to lead FP&A for the AI segment, partnering with product, production, and engineering teams in Austin. The role interfaces with executives and business-unit leaders to deliver financial analysis, KPI tracking, and capital planning to enable fast growth and profitability.

The position requires 10+ years in finance/ops, 4+ years in leadership, and an MBA is preferred. On-site in Austin, TX, with expectations for extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years of experience in finance or operations.
• 4+ years in a supervisory/lead/management role.

Responsibilities

• Identify resource requirements for business groups, including headcount, capital, vehicle refurb/build costs and operating expenses.
• Work with production and engineering teams to identify production and operational KPIs and analyze performance against productivity targets.
• Partner with business unit leaders to prepare financial analysis to help inform optimal operational decision-making.
• Work closely with supply chain to ensure that financial obligations are tracked and committed appropriately as we scale for rapid growth.
• Partner with accounting for financial close analysis and group-level reporting.
• Provide insight on spending variances and department-level reporting to business partners.
• Coordinate capital expenditure tracking and related cash forecasts for the business.
• Provide financial analysis and support to our business initiatives.
• Manage, develop a team of financial analysts.
