Job summary

Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst for a client in Raleigh, NC. You will lead strategic financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and insightful reporting to drive business performance across portfolio companies.

You will extract data from ERP/CRM systems using APIs, SQL, or CSV files, apply AI tools to surface deeper insights, and partner with cross-functional teams to shape financial strategy and KPI tracking.

Qualifications

Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior FP&A Analyst for our client in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will excel in strategic financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and reporting. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, with the ability to extract and analyze data from various systems ensure data accuracy and apply AI tools to work faster and surface deeper insights. The Senior FP&A Analyst will play a key role in shaping financial strategies, tracking KPIs, and driving business performance at portfolio companies.

Responsibilities

• Financial Modeling & Analysis: Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making, scenario planning, and long-term forecasting. Includes support on development and maintenance of the businesses long range financial model as well as 13-week cash flow model.
• Budget Creation: Assist with creation, management, and review of company-wide budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Variance Analysis: Perform in-depth variance analysis to compare actuals against forecasts/budgets, identify trends, and highlight risks or opportunities for improvement.
• Periodic Reporting: Interpret, analyze, and present financial reports, providing insights to senior leadership on financial performance and business trends.
• KPI Creation & Tracking: Assist with development of, and lead tracking and report on, key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and optimize company performance.
• Data Extraction & Accuracy: Pull data from various systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, financial software) using APIs, SQL queries, or CSV files, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data sets.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Support on strategic projects including mix analysis, capital allocation, real estate analysis and vendor / partnership analysis.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and senior management, to support financial planning initiatives.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes and systems, ensuring efficiency and scalability, including by applying AI tools to automate recurring analysis and reporting.
• Unit-Level Profitability Analysis: Identify the most and least profitable locations, understand cost drivers, and recommend detailed improvements.
• Period Review and Analysis: Interpret periodic financial data and summarize key findings for leadership.
• Menu Profitability & Engineering: Analyze sales mix, food costs, and contribution margins to optimize menu pricing and item selection.
• Rolling Forecast Model: Develop a dynamic forecasting model that adjusts for seasonality, trends, and real-time data.
• Cash Flow Planning & Optimization: Build a model to manage liquidity, plan for expansion, and ensure operational cash sufficiency.
• Labor Cost Optimization: Analyze labor trends and productivity by location, identifying scheduling inefficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Capital Expenditure Planning: Track and prioritize investments in renovations, kitchen equipment, and technology upgrades.
• G&A Optimization: Consolidate, categorize and summarize G&A spend into key buckets to drive efficiency and cost savings.
• KPI Dashboard Development: Design automated dashboards tracking key metrics like food cost %, labor %, revenue per location, and average ticket size.
• Channel Analysis: Assess margins and operational efficiency between different order channels.
• Vendor & Supply Chain Cost Analysis: Evaluate food and beverage purchasing efficiency and identify potential cost savings.
• Waste & Shrinkage Analysis: Identify trends in inventory loss and develop strategies to reduce waste.
• Promotions & Discount Effectiveness Study: Measure the financial impact of discounts, happy hours, and loyalty programs.
• POS Data Integration & Automation: Improve financial reporting by integrating and automating systems where possible.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or a similar analytical role.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency working in database tools and Excel for data extraction and manipulation.
• Working proficiency with generative AI tools (e.g., Claude) to support analysis, modeling, and reporting, with sound judgment in validating AI-generated output.
• Ability to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data from various sources.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with Private Equity backed companies.
• Experience working with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience applying AI tools (e.g., Claude) to automate reporting, build dashboards, or streamline financial workflows.
