The position requires strong strategic solicitation skills, donor reporting, and comfort with hybrid work in Boulder, Colorado.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of fundraising experience with success securing gifts from corporate and foundation entities.
• Experience navigating complex nonprofit, academic, scientific, or matrixed environments.
• Ability to open doors and build relationships with external decision-makers.
• Excellent verbal presentation and ability to translate Earth system science concepts into compelling value propositions.

Responsibilities

• Front-Line Fundraising & Portfolio Management: manage a portfolio of ~75 corporate and foundation prospects/donors and advance them through the fundraising pipeline.
• Portfolio Growth: develop relationships and seek six- to seven-figure gifts; expand sponsorship programs.
• Prospect Research & CRM Management: perform research and maintain moves and profiles in Salesforce for transparency.
• Internal Collaboration: connect internal capabilities with funders and align strategies with organizational capacity.
• Proposal Strategy & Stewardship: craft pitches and LOIs to position projects for support.
