Job summary

Kroger seeks a senior role overseeing corporate food safety and quality systems. You will guide facilities in designing, validating, and sustaining food safety plans, driving SQF certification, and ensuring regulatory alignment across the network.

The role requires 8+ years in food safety/quality, strong leadership, and Lean/Six Sigma expertise. You will mentor teams, lead cross-functional initiatives, and advance continuous improvement aligned with Kroger’s values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field and HACCP certification.
• 6+ years progressive food manufacturing, food safety and quality experience.
• Experience with SQF and/or GFSI implementations and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and strategic oversight of corporate food safety policies, procedures and training programs.
• Guide facilities in designing, improving and validating food safety and quality plans across processes.
• Direct efforts to implement and sustain SQF certification and regulatory alignment.
• Evaluate changes to food safety plans impacting product safety and quality.
• Stay current with regulatory developments and adapt strategies to maintain compliance.
• Analyze customer feedback to resolve systemic product quality issues.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma, including SPC and root cause analysis.
• Lead strategic planning to enhance quality programs and initiatives.
• Provide coaching to plan operations on quality systems and issue resolution.
• Oversee corrective actions to prevent recurrence and ensure sustainability.
• Monitor supplier food safety compliance for Kroger corporate brands.
• Supervise and coach direct reports in their duties.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
