Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking a Senior Food Safety Lead – Night Shift to provide technical leadership across designated facilities. You will develop, validate, verify, and continuously improve HACCP plans and food safety systems, ensuring compliance with USDA FSIS, FDA, and GFSI standards.

The role requires strong microbiology and sanitation expertise, plus experience leading cross-functional teams to drive product safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required.
• 7+ years of progressive food safety, QA, or regulatory compliance experience in food/beverage manufacturing.
• HACCP certification is required; PCQI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the HACCP Program Coordinator for assigned facilities.
• Lead CCP validation and verification activities and design validation studies.
• Coordinate and deliver HACCP and food safety training for plant personnel.
• Provide technical guidance to plant leadership on food safety compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments for processes, ingredients, and finished products.
• Develop corrective actions and mitigation strategies based on risk findings.
• Lead program design and continuous improvement of food safety systems and procedures.
• Audit plant prerequisite programs including Allergen Control, Pest Control, SSOPs, traceability, and environmental monitoring.
