Job summary

TechOp Solutions is seeking an experienced FOIA Analyst to process moderately complex to complex FOIA requests and support disclosure reviews, appeals, litigation matters, records redaction, correspondence preparation, and quality assurance activities. The role requires at least 5 years of FOIA experience, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to obtain security clearance.

Proficiency with eDiscovery tools and case-management platforms is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of relevant FOIA experience.
• Expertise reviewing and handling federal FOIA cases.
• Advanced knowledge of FOIA exemptions, the Privacy Act, disclosure analysis, appeals, and litigation support.
• Experience with eDiscovery, electronic case-management, and redaction tools; Relativity highly desirable.
• Ability to independently analyze complex or sensitive records and provide defensible recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Review and process new, open, routine, complex, and backlogged FOIA requests.
• Determine whether records are responsive to assigned requests.
• Analyze records and recommend FOIA exemptions and Privacy Act applications.
• Prepare records for release by applying redactions.
• Draft correspondence to requesters and coordinate with custodians to clarify scope and terms.
• Support FOIA appeals and litigation by organizing case files and preparing documentation.
• Use case-management, eDiscovery, SharePoint, Box, and other approved systems.
• Record case actions, correspondence, determinations, and supporting documentation in the tracking system.
• Prepare document indices, status reports, disclosure analyses, and case-closure documentation.
