Job summary

Sandisk seeks a Senior Flutter Developer to own the client-side architecture of our consumer app. You will drive depth in Flutter, shape state management, and model complex business logic with Dart, influencing architecture decisions and framework-level tradeoffs.

Lead the Flutter codebase, mentor teammates, and collaborate with platform teams to deliver scalable performance, robust testing, and smooth user experiences across devices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mobile development experience, including 3+ years shipping production Flutter/Dart apps at scale.
• Deep understanding of Flutter framework internals: the widget tree, render tree, BuildContext lifecycle, keys and slivers.
• Strong fluency with at least one state management approach (Riverpod, Bloc, Redux, signals, or hand-rolled).
• Experience designing the architecture of a Flutter app, not just contributing features.
• Ability to model complex business logic in Dart and handle async flows.
• Strong testing strategy for Flutter and knowledge of test types.
• Experience with Flutter DevTools performance profiling.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the Flutter app: state management, navigation, modularization, UI vs business logic.
• Design and implement the business logic powering consumer workflows: backup, sync, device management, media organization.
• Make framework-level decisions and explain tradeoffs: state management, rebuilds, async boundaries, navigation modeling.
• Set patterns for error handling, async orchestration, caching, and testing.
• Identify and fix subtle Flutter issues such as unnecessary rebuilds, BuildContext misuse, lifecycle bugs.
• Define the boundary between the Flutter app and the native layer through stable, well-typed Dart interfaces.
• Profile and optimize startup, large lists, memory pressure, and background work.
• Lead code reviews, write design docs, and mentor mid-level and junior developers on Flutter and architecture.
