Job summary

Ursa Major is expanding its Solid Rocket Motor team in Colorado to advance propulsion systems for national security. As a Senior Fluids Analyst, you will perform high-fidelity fluids analyses to ensure performance and reliability of SRM products, and develop steady-state and transient 1D models to support design, qualification and production programs.

You should be proficient in CFD tools such as ANSYS Fluent/CFX or StarCCM+, with a strong background in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and heat

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years in fluids analysis of aerospace components.
• CFD experience with ANSYS Fluent/CFX or StarCCM+.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and test data.
• Strong problem-solving in a fast-paced development environment.
• U.S. Person and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-fidelity fluids analyses for SRM systems.
• Build steady-state and transient 1D models of SRM fluid behavior.
• Identify potential design improvements and collaborate with engineering teams.
• Evaluate test data and correlate analytical models with tests.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to peers.
