Job summary

Cirrus in Duluth, MN is seeking an experienced Production Flight Test Pilot to lead flight tests on new/modified aircraft, execute test plans, and document behavior for regulatory compliance. This role supports engineering and production teams with detailed assessments.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree, 1500+ PIC hours, 7+ years in engineering or A&P, FAA Commercial/ATP with instrument ratings, and CFIs are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1500 hours PIC flight time.
• 7+ years of engineering or aircraft A&P experience preferred.
• FAA Commercial or ATP pilot's license with airplane single engine & instrument ratings; CFI/CFII desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform preflight inspections, weight & balance computations, and performance calculations for flight readiness.
• Evaluate weather, aircraft status, and factors to determine safe go/no-go, within safety policies.
• Pilot aircraft through flight tests to evaluate systems, performance, handling, and stability to meet design and FAA requirements.
• Observe instruments during test flights to evaluate performance.
• Gather data and document aircraft behavior to assist troubleshooting.
• Record and document all performance data and any criteria deviations.
