Job summary

Archer in Silicon Valley seeks a Senior Flight Test Engineer to join the Flight Test and Operational Safety team supporting Halo and Thunder. You will plan and execute ground and flight test campaigns, lead safety risk management activities, and mentor junior engineers as we push toward first flight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in flight test operations or related roles.
• Experience with safety risk management processes for flight testing or complex operations.
• Proficiency in configuration management for ground and flight tests within certification or military projects.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams in test or development environments.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ground and flight test plans for Halo and Thunder campaigns.
• Coordinate flight tests with remote operators and autonomy engineers.
• Participate in Flight Test Safety Risk Management activities.
• Define test operating limitations with engineering disciplines.
• Collaborate with engineering, certification, and quality to meet test objectives.
• Monitor test article configuration and maintenance during campaigns.
• Support safety risk management and compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain flight test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
