Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking a Senior Space Embedded Software Engineer to join the Flight Software team. You will determine how the spacecraft behaves in orbit and build reliable software to support all mission phases, from requirements through flight operations.

The role requires developing bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++, with responsibilities spanning design, testing, and integration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in development of spacecraft or safety critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Strong knowledge of C++ language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule across the mission.
• Own all software development aspects from design to integration and testing.
• Perform design trades and requirements capture for open-ended problems.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable and available software systems.
• Ensure quality and performance via software test, verification, and validation.
