Job summary

Terran Orbital is seeking a Principal Flight Software Engineer, Spacecraft to join our team in Irvine, CA. You will design and lead high-level software architecture for nano-satellite payloads, develop fault-tolerant embedded software, and collaborate with engineers across Boeing, design reviews, and customer teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing C++ for embedded/high-performance/critical systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with GitHub and collaborative software development.

Responsibilities

• Design high-level software architecture with other principal and chief engineers.
• Lead IRAD investigations and development as technical SME.
• Represent Flight Software in technical review boards and ensure fault-tolerant software.
• Develop software for unique payloads including image processing and control tasks.
• Integrate and test software in simulation, flight replica, and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Communicate with customers in technical working groups and design reviews.
