Job summary

Castelion is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own full-stack design of mission-critical flight hardware for hypersonic vehicles. You will lead the design and integration of components such as composite tanks, separation mechanisms, actuators, and control surfaces, from concept to flight.

You will drive high-cadence design iterations, apply robust engineering practices, and collaborate with technicians and engineers to ensure on-time deliveries and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong CAD skills and experience with complex parts design.
• Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis and metrology.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, and integration of flight vehicle components (e.g., composite tanks, separation mechanisms, actuators, control surfaces).
• Apply statics, dynamics, and modal analysis to justify designs and prove them in test/flight.
• Drive rapid design iterations with four-week cadences and cross-functional reviews.
